Most cookie policies are long because the site has a lot to declare. This one is short for the opposite reason.
oakhive.ai sets no cookies at all. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no session cookies, no third-party scripts of any kind. One item is stored locally in your browser — whether you chose the light or the dark theme — and it never leaves your device.
1The short version

2What is stored in your browser

It exists so the site does not flash the wrong background at you on your next visit. If you never touch the toggle, nothing is stored at all, and the page follows your operating system’s own light or dark setting.
4What reaches our infrastructure anyway
Serving a page cannot happen without your device talking to a server. That involves your IP address and basic request information — the page requested, the time, your browser’s user agent string — reaching the provider that hosts the site.
That is used to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack. It is short-lived, it is not used to build a profile, and it is not combined with anything else to identify you. The provider is named in the Privacy Policy, section 5.
5The product, as distinct from this site
This page is about the public website. The OakHive product is a different surface, and it is honest to say so rather than let a claim about the marketing site be read as covering everything.
- The customer portal and the interview interface authenticate you against your employer’s Microsoft Entra ID. That sign-in holds a session in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. It is strictly necessary to keep you signed in.
- Those surfaces set no analytics or advertising cookies either.
- What the product does with personal data is described in the Interview Privacy Notice and the Data Processing Agreement.
6Clearing it
Clear it whenever you like: it is under site data or local storage in your browser’s settings, for oakhive.ai. Nothing on the site breaks without it — the page simply goes back to following your system theme.
Blocking storage for this site entirely also works. The theme toggle will still function for the current visit; it just will not remember.
7If this ever changes
If we ever add analytics or anything else that stores information on your device beyond what is described here, we will implement proper consent first — a real choice, made before anything is set, with declining as easy as accepting — and this page will describe it before it goes live rather than after.
